"Both my eldest and middle child attend the Hastings stage studio and I have always found it to be a welcoming and friendly place. One thing I particularly like about it is the sense of community and camaraderie amongst the students. An attitude of trust and responsibility is nurtured within the students and a wide array of classes are offered taught by lovely and experienced staff providing a broad and rounded experience. Examinations are encouraged but not compulsory and students are regularly offered the opportunity to perform with the level of production always outstanding. "What sets this school aside from all the rest is the high level of teaching and learning in ALL areas of the performing arts. Students have the opportunity to be trained by fully qualified teachers, all of whom are also working professionals in the industry.
I thoroughly enjoy my Adult Tap class each week with John (the Principal). Having learned Tap when I was much younger, I couldn’t believe how quickly he got me back into the rhythm of it...and how much weight I lost!
By far the best part about this school is their productions! This is not like any other school where they sing a couple of numbers from the latest musical(s)! Each number is carefully chosen and arranged especially for the ensemble. With amazing jazz harmonies and dance sequences all directed and choreographed by professionals from Broadway and the West End.
The school also plays host to their annual LAMDA and ISTD exams - where you can achieve levelled certificates for Acting and Dancing.
